Some aerial shots look good.
Some look great.
And some…look spectacular.
Drone giant DJI has curated the best of the best – and compiled them into a single premium photography book. Announced on Friday, Above the World is a coffee-table style book that “pays homage to the revolution DJI touched off a decade ago,” according to a news release.
The book kicks off DJI’s 10th-anniversary celebration – marking a decade since the company started out with flight controllers. The campaign will focus on the three “I”s – Innovation, Imagination, and Inspiration – which the release says are “hallmarks” of the company’s ascension to its current market-leading position.
“After 10 years of hard work, we’ve learned that success…goes to those who keep their feet on the ground, have a strong vision, and work tirelessly toward achieving their goal. These are the people who ultimately spark change that has a tangible impact,” said Frank Wang, Founder and CEO of DJI, during the interview for the book.
“This belief is what pushed us to create an industry that lets people see their world from a completely new perspective.”
And what a perspective. Above the World features glorious shots from around the globe. It’s also, in a way, a celebration not only of DJI – but of the democratization of flight and aerial photography.
Once solely the domain of professional photographers with the budget for a helicopter or private aircraft, DJI triggered the revolution that put sophisticated aerial technology within reach of the average consumer. Just as important, its products also made it easy for the average person to fly a drone and capture the world from a new perspective.
Above the World will be officially launched at select events in October – and available online through the DJI Store.
